PIXELROOM / WORKSPACE GUIDE
A little room for a better workflow.
Pixelroom is an image workspace that runs on your device. Begin with Add images, drag files onto the window, or paste images from your clipboard. Try the sample if you want to explore first.
From original to output
- Choose a thumbnail. Each image has its own edits and history. Nothing changes the original file.
- Set the destination. Resize, crop, or choose a preset. Use Compress for a file-size ceiling.
- Refine. Adjust brightness, contrast and saturation, or add a text or image watermark.
- Render output. Pixelroom creates a real encoded file. Output and Compare show that exact file, not an estimate.
- Download. Any new edit invalidates the old output until you render again.
The stage
Edit is a reduced-resolution working preview. Output displays the actual encoded file fitted to the stage. Compare places the original and output in the same frame with a slider. Different crops and aspect ratios may not align. Use + and − to zoom, drag to pan, and Fit to recenter.
Recipes and Batch Lab
Save a recipe to remember settings on this device. Image watermarks are session-only. Share settings creates a URL containing numeric and format settings, but no image data or watermark text. Crop coordinates are normalized, so a shared crop selects the same relative area on another image.
Select an image, configure it, then use Apply to all. This copies the settings, including its crop, to every image. Process all renders sequentially to limit memory use. ZIP includes only successfully rendered files. Cancellation preserves outputs already finished.
Keyboard and mobile
- Ctrl/⌘ O: choose images. Ctrl/⌘ V: paste image clipboard content.
- Ctrl/⌘ Z: undo. Add Shift to redo. Text fields retain their native editing shortcuts.
- Focus the crop selection and use arrow keys to move it. Shift + arrows resize; Alt uses a smaller step.
- On mobile, the bottom tool bar opens a settings sheet. Close the sheet to inspect the stage. Collapse Batch Lab for more space.
Limits and compatibility
Up to 30 source files, 20 MiB per file and 24 megapixels per image. A session is limited to 100 MiB of source files and 96 MP in total. Outputs allow 8,192 pixels per side and 16 MP. Large compressed sources may use significant memory during initial decoding. Lower-end devices can need smaller inputs.
A current browser with Canvas, image decoding and module support is required. Worker processing is used when available; a main-thread fallback yields between steps but may briefly pause the interface. Animated input becomes a still image. Source EXIF orientation is applied by the browser decoder. Re-encoding removes source metadata; color profiles may change.
